The real-life watch takes a bullet
At the end of April, in Akron, Ohio, three gunmen stormed into a local watch shop, shot and wounded a clerk and stole Swiss watches worth tens of thousands of dollars. Surveillance cameras captured the robbery, which lasted just 15 seconds as one man brandished a gun and the other smashed a display case with an axe to grab the watch before running out of the store.
It is believed to be the first time the watch shop has been robbed since it opened in 1971. The injured employee was shot twice in the arm, but it was not life-threatening because the bullets first hit the wrist watch he was wearing, reducing the damage to what would have been an unpredictable situation. The injured man was taken to hospital, underwent surgery the next day and is now recovering. We sympathize with him in his unfortunate situation.
